Swimming with Excitement

As stated before, I am not much of a runner and walking just won't get the amount of weight off that I would like to lose. I came up with the solution of swimming; which is perfect for winter, when I do not want to be outside. It is also a fun way to burn calories.

Today I went by the aquatic center that my town has to buy a membership. I decided on the 12 visits for $45 package. If I find that I easily use those visits, then I will buy a year long membership. I think I will use the 12 visits very easily. I would love to go today; however, most of the pools are being used for a competition today. Plus, I have to find my swim suit.

The visits are also good for the fitness machines. I will use those after I get in shape a little as right now, I get winded easily.

I am not a very athletic person; however, I would like to eventually get to a point where I am fit enough to participate in a sport just for fun. I had thought about Ultimate Frisbee (Ultimate, as it is called now); Roller Derby; Lacrosse; or Softball. Although, the latter are usually made up of people who have been playing for years.

Once I can get into the routine of swimming and exercising, I am going to start working on my eating habits. Right now, I eat out way too much and I miss home cooked meals.

One thing at a time. It is a work in progress.
